TED CONACHEN
Ted Conachen is a third-generation fly angler from Central Wisconsin, with over 20 years of experience fly fishing and exploring the streams of the Central Sands and beyond. He grew up fishing these rivers and knows all too well what the sound of a whip-poor-will chanting its name on a summer night signifies. With years of guiding and teaching fly fishing under his belt, Ted invites others to slow down and develop a deeper appreciation for the waters of the Central Sands—the fish that reside in them, and the landscape that surrounds them.
ADAM
GREUEL
When Adam isn’t on the road as a professional musician, you can probably find him chasing fish on the fly in some kind of beautiful place. A vocalist and instrumentalist in such projects as Horseshoes & Hand Grenades, Berens & Greuel, The High Hawks, and Rucksack Revolution, he balances the rigors of touring with the relaxation of time on the water with a fly rod.
Born, raised, and currently residing in Wisconsin, Adam has been fishing “Wisconsin Waters” since he can remember. His focus is predominantly trout and bass fishing using whatever tactic suits the fish, the river, and the angler on that particular day or night. With a deep passion for fly fishing, the outdoors, and exploration, Adam brings a strong understanding of the state’s waters, the fish that live within them, and the best routes to maximize your efforts during a day on the water.
Chris Firkus
Chris Firkus has spent the past 20 plus years roaming, fishing, and photographing the Upper Midwest outdoors. He holds an M.S. in Environmental Science & Policy, is a board member for his local Trout Unlimited chapter, and is a leader of TU CARES, advocating for coldwater conservation in the Central Sands of Wisconsin. There are few things he enjoys better than the sound of a whippoorwill interrupted by the sound of a bowling ball dropping in the river.
